“I called Capital Arborists because we had several problem trees on our property. The most serious was a Modesto ash that is over 50 years old and was splitting down the middle. Other tree services recommended removing it along with the other 3 problem trees.
Jeff from Capital recommended removing branches from the ash to reduce the weight on it, putting cables between two branches and drilling two holes through the splitting trunk and installing two large rods to reduce the chance of further splitting. They also reduced the size and weight on two other trees and only cut down one which was growing into a Redwood.
