Plant Health Care – Sacramento

Our Plant Health Care programs treat a variety of tree and shrub problems, helping you protect your investment in your trees, and keep your property beautiful for years to come.

Just like any living thing, trees can get sick! This usually leads to homeowners and those who love those trees asking,

“What is that on my tree? Why is there sticky stuff on my trees? Is this bug bad for my garden? Why are my leaves discolored?”

If you’re asking these (or any other) questions about your trees, you’ve found the right help!

Our ISA Certified Arborists personally diagnose the health of your specific trees (never a one-size-fits-all approach), and provide the least-invasive, and most environmentally sound approach to treat and combat tree pest and disease issues.

With us, the health of your trees and shrubs is regularly cared for by an educated team of Sacramento Arborists – which means no more worry, and no more wild goose chases for the right diagnosis and treatment!

Organic Fertilization

Our Organic Bio-Stimulant fertilization program provides your trees and shrubs the nutrients they need to stay healthy, and combat disease and environmental stressors. As an organic ‘multivitamin’ for your trees, this treatment can be a vital tool to caring for the long term health of your trees and shrubs. Learn more about our fertilization program here!

Aphid Suppression

Aphids can wreak havoc on your landscape, and we’re here to help. Our aphid suppression treatment is injected into the soil and efficiently reduces aphids in your landscape. We prioritize our environment’s overall wellbeing, so our Sacramento aphid suppression program is not only wonderfully effective – but entirely eco friendly, never harming trees or beneficial insects.

Nuisance Fruit Suppression

We can help suppress nuisance fruit from Plum trees! Excess fallen fruit can cause stains, messes, and leave residue that attracts insects and rodents to your home. Our Sacramento Certified Arborists can help manage this by treating the tree during the tree’s fruiting cycle, helping reduce the amount of fruit that is grown each season – mitigating the mess for you!

Growth Regulator Treatments

Growth Regulator treatments help slow and regulate the growth of trees whose species and growth expectations are too big for their location. For example, we often treat large Redwoods planted in small backyards or in areas a full-grown Coastal Redwood may not be suited for. This treatment isn’t right for every tree species, so it’s essential to have a Certified Arborist help assess and create a treatment plan.

Peach Leaf Curl

Peach Leaf Curl is a fungal disease affecting stone fruit trees, causing unsightly curling and discoloration of leaves. Though largely caused by weather changes and excess moisture (it’s a fungus after all!) our team can treat to prevent and reduce this phenomenon with professionally applied treatments.

Boring insects

Boring insects do just that – bore into live wood on your trees and cause harm from within. Boring insects leave small holes in the branches and trunks of trees (usually trees that are older or struggling with other ailments), and sometimes spotted easily with a bit of wood dust around the hole. These insects can be suppressed, and the tree cared for to help keep its natural defenses up against infestation.

Redhumped Caterpillars

These caterpillars are easy to spot, and leave a wake of leaf destruction! As they grow into moths, these caterpillars and their young will take aim at your trees’ leaves for sustenance, but leave behind an unhappy tree. If you start to see skeletonized leaves (most of the leaf gone, except for the veins), give us a call! We can help give the tree the boost it will need to recover, and continue thriving!

Oak Webworms

Springtime around the Sacramento Valley means web worms! If you’re lucky to have large Oaks or even our Native Oaks on your property, you’ve probably experienced little worms seeming to fly out of thin air around your Oak tree in the warming spring weather. These worms come off of the canopy, and spindle down to eat surrounding foliage. In small numbers, these worms usually go unnoticed, but higher springtime infestation levels can bring destruction to your garden and other trees, and cause havoc on your property as a whole. Good news – our Arborists can help! We use a fully organic soil made substance called a Spinosad –  injected into the soil around the tree, and is completely safe for you, your tree, and everything around it!

Reviews from Sacramento, CA

“Fantastic company and super knowledgeable staff! Lisa spent over an hour with me going over each of the trees on my lot and explaining the best ways to trim – or not trim – them. No effort to upsell, just going through the best ways to accomplish my goals!! Fantastic price, too! Very reasonable for the scope of work. Plus on the day of, they actually trimmed two additional trees in order to get at the main tree without disturbing my neighbors. I can’t recommend them highly enough. You will not be disappointed!”

“We got quotes for a smaller job and a bigger job – we went with the bigger job. The folks who came out to give the estimates were fantastic, kind, knowledgeable, and respected the deep reverence I have for my large Magnolia and Avocado trees. Their crew out this morning and each member of the team introduced themselves and were all super friendly, professional, and did an amazing job. They were accommodating to our yard furniture, helped move items, checked in to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction, cleaned up, and were really a great crew!”

“This is my second time having Capital Arborists trim and shape trees and tall Camellia bushes in my yard and once again I am very pleased with their service. They really listen to what I want done – no foliage touching the roof of my house, shaping large Camellia bushes and a tree – and follow those requests exactly… I will definitely call them next year!”
