Western Redbud

Bold Blooms Banner

Quick Facts

Lovely magenta flowers, heart-like leaves, and fabulously heat and drought tolerant, the Western Redbud is a great addition to your Sacramento area garden or landscape!

Watering

A rare winner for clay soils, Western Redbuds are a great pick for communities in southern Placer Counties (Lincoln, Roseville, Rocklin), where the denser and more water-resistant soils can make planting and long-term plant success more difficult.

Pruning

Regular pruning should be performed, typically 1-2x per year to maintain health and a proper well-structured shape.
